Become Dommin-ated ;D

Rather than dance to a synthesized, auto-tuned pop track; I have decided to dance to Dommin's Dark Holiday! It's for a final in my dance class and let me just say  NO ONE except me and my friend did a rock song. Whoooo for beating the norm! In case you haven't heard it, indulge yourself:

Here's some info:

Dommin is Kris Dommin, Billy James, Konstantine and Cameron Morris. They are from LA, having formed in 2000. Here are a few excerpts from their official site, http://www.dommin.com/

"Dommin is the sound of the brokenhearted," explains Kristofer Dommin, frontman for the Los Angeles quartet that puts a very fresh spin on a very familiar pain. Dommin are inviting everyone to join them in the dark introspection that goes hand in hand with heartbreak. On their Roadrunner Records debut, Love Is Gone, due out in spring 2009, Dommin delves into complex relationships, damaged psyches and much more."

"Kristofer finds influence and inspiration outside of the norm and in an unexpected places - from crooners of the ‘40s and ‘50s to film scores. "I'm into everything from the Cinderella Man score to The Transformers soundtrack. Anything that sounds really moving and epic appeals to me. People fail to recognize how much the music in a movie is affecting their mood and experience. I've always paid close attention to it and having the keyboards in Dommin is virtually like having an orchestra at our fingertips."

"Ultimately, Dommin's music is truly for everybody. Given the relatable lyrics, it's easy to see why disaffected youth, the lovelorn or even the average Jane or Joe will be magnetically attracted to Love Is Gone. Dommin speaks on a topic that affects us all and the music acts as a unifying force for those who flock to music when life knocks them down. "We make music for anyone who is feeling what the average person feels in a day," concludes Kristofer. "The words and music are there for those misunderstood people who need to know that there is someone out there who feels the same."

Enjoy my little gothlings! <3

The Beginning

My journey down the dark road began in the 5th grade. Needless to say I have ALWAYS loved darker things and colors and music. Yet I didn't embrace it until the 5th grade. It all began with HIM, which I know is not a goth band, nevertheless it began with them. They were a gateway to many other bands for me. The Sisters of Mercy, Theatre of Tragedy, Type O Negative and most importantly, The 69 Eyes ;). As I began to feel the change, I'm not going to lie. I was a poser (sort of). Sort of because, I had a little of the music and the mindset but not the clothes or the RIGHT music. Now don't judge me, because NOBODY starts off as Darkness Extraordinaire As I grew into it, I began listening to more of the 69 Eyes which led me to Siouxie and the Banshees, The Cruxshadows, Christian Death and Bauhaus. It wasn't until I had heard more of the TRUE goth music that I began to REALLY feel it.

In terms of art, I have always loved any type of visual art. Dark, light, romantic, whatever, I love art. Literature? Edgar Allen Poe, Shakespeare and Emily Dickinson always tickled me. Movies? Horror was preferred but my favorite, forever and always is Star Wars XD (Darth Vader wore black so screw off XD). I like cities and streetlife but in all honesty, I prefer a secluded forest or foggy beach. Nature is always my preference.

Why am I telling you this? Oh I don't know, just to tell my story hehe. My point is, I still have a lot of growing to do and I am still exploring many aspects of Goth. I proudly consider myself one, whether or not that makes me a poser is up to you, but I still bear the title proudly. Judge me as you will

Pointless People

In our lives, we have encountered several...meaningless and insignificant people. Most of us brush them off, others get angry, others cry and others laugh. Me? I ignore. There is this girl in my 3rd period geometry class who, in the beginning of the year liked me because I dressed different than now. The day I wore my combat boots to school, she turned on me. Laughed behind my back, gave me attitude and was just generally rude. The past few days, she has been randomly began starting problems with me. Why? Because she believes she is better. Is she? Of course not, however she is just an example of yet another idiot representing several more to come in time.
